Programme Goals
To produce trained and qualified teachers who have adequate subject matter knowledge and can employ critical and reflective thinking in the analysis of their educational issues in general, and curricular and pedagogical issues in particular, in their chosen subject areas.
To equip graduates with relevant knowledge and skills to enable them to further their studies and also carry out relevant research in the field.
Duration of the Programme
Four (4) Academic Years- Eight (8) semesters
Admission Requirements
KCSE (or equivalent examination) certificate with a minimum of Aggregate KCSE mean grade of C+ and above or:
A relevant KNEC diploma or its equivalent with a minimum of grade C+ in Mathematics and English
Holder of an Accredited diploma with a credit pass from an institution that is recognized by the University Senate with a minimum grade of C+ in Mathematics and English
Be a Holder of KACE certificate with a minimum of two principal passes and one subsidiary pass, and a minimum of credit pass in Mathematics and English at KCE
Have a minimum of grade C+ in the two teaching subjects you wish to pursue
Those taking Business studies as a teaching subject must have a minimum of grade C+ in Mathematics
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the programme, the learner should be able to:

Apply Acquired knowledge and skills through carrying out practice in teaching and research in Education
Explain Theories of growth and development in relation to knowledge and skills for teaching students from varied social economic backgrounds
Demonstrate a solid foundation that can enable them pursue further studies in Education
