School of Media

Media is a very crucial part of society, with communication playing a significant role in the advancement of economy, businesses, and societal growth. This department was established to produce competent, excellent and ethical individuals into the dynamic field of journalism. It seeks to produce highly motivated and qualified trainees who can be easily absorbed in the contemporary media industry. The student is introduced to the history of media and how it connects with the modern day industry.

Head of Department

The Media Department is led by Mr. Roy Khaemba, an experienced academician who believes that a solid foundation in media and communication training will influence the quality of media specialists we have in the country and the world. Under his leadership, the department continues to experience and boast of commendable growth creating learning material designed to produce graduates that excel both in academia and character.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication (PR option) from JKUAT and a Diploma in Broadcast Journalism from the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication, and is pursuing a Master’s degree in Communication Studies (Development) at the University of Nairobi.
