Sparks goalkeeper earns call to national team

The Zetech University Sports fraternity had reason to celebrate after the Zetech Sparks goalkeeper Pauline Muhonja earned a call up to the Kenya National Team, following her talent and competence on the field.

Pauline joins teammates Alukwe Purity Anyetu and Foscah Nashivanda in the national outfit and played alongside them in an entertaining match against Ethiopia, where the Harambee Starlets won 3-2. She is among the new faces in the team as the Starlets start their 2020 Tokyo qualification campaign with an away match against in Malawi on August 28, before the return leg in Nairobi early September.

Congratulating Pauline on the achievement, VC Prof Njenga Munene said, “As the Zetech family, we are proud of Pauline as she marks this accomplishment and represents the Country in the national league.” He said, adding that the University continues to invest in scholarships for talented students to empower them build their skills while accessing quality education.

Team coach Ben Kitolo celebrated the Sparks player for her skill, discipline and focus, noting that her performance is what caught the attention of national team tactician David Ouma.
