Varsity Hosts First Lady of Kajiado County
In an effort to enhance collaboration with the community, the University held a fruitful meeting with Her Excellency Edna Lenku, First Lady of Kajiado County during a courtesy visit to the University main campus.
Led by Prof. Peter Kibas, Dean, School of Business and Economics, the Zetech team enlightened her on current partnerships and achievements geared towards ensuring graduates become high achievers with an entrepreneurial attitude as well as several community engagements, including Zetech Mashinani.
The discussion also covered education and training needs in the County as H.E Edna Lenku shared her passion to promote education in her community, outlining recent efforts the Kajiado County government has invested in. “Together we can do a lot to enhance education for the Kajiado County community.” She said. The delegation explored areas of cooperation between the County government and the institution.
She further lauded the Varsity for community outreach programmes including the University sponsorship of degree students from Oloitoktok and providing attachment opportunities to the beneficiaries at a time when many are seeking for scholarship in private universities. Additionally, she noted that the current Miss Tourism Kajiado Eunice Eunice Mayiamei, who is pursuing a purchasing and supply management course at Zetech, is doing a great job serving in the County government and campaigning for persons with disability.
The University is focused on investing in such collaborations designed to provide quality education to Kenyans from all over the country to enable them to access one of the accredited private universities in Kenya.
