Zetech Titans Strike Gor Mahia
The Zetech University football men, “The Titans” challenged the renowned Gor Mahia Youth FC beating them 3:2 goal in a heated clash early February at the Camp Toyoyo Grounds at Jericho, Nairobi.
The tactful match which was full of promise for both teams attracted anxiety among spectators as Titans team Captain Stephen Duol surprised opponents with a 25 yard free- kick in the 18th minute, giving Zetech a head start.
While defending their lead, Hospitality and Management student Aaron Omari emerged with a long-range super shot 10 minutes later, shaking the Gor Mahia net leaving everyone mesmerized, before the halftime break.
In retaliation, the Gor Mahia FC team surprised everyone in the second half scoring two consecutive goals, changing the game. Angered by the strides by the opponents, Peter Kenneth Ochieng’ joined the match securing a clean 84th minute goal, clinching a deserved win for the Titans.
Congratulating the players for the good game, Coach Bernard Kitolo celebrated the teamwork exhibited. He said, “Let us keep up the pace as till the finishing point of the season to ensure so that that we have great results in the upcoming games.”
The team is currently sixth in the FKF Division one league and is fighting for the top spot as the league progresses.
