Zetech Titans to face off Nairobi Water in FKF Shield Cup Fixture
Fixtures for the newly launched Betway Cup, whose winner takes home KES 2 Million as well as a chance to represent the country in the CAF Confederations Cup, were released on 14th January 2020.
The tournament has seen 48 clubs expressed interest in participating in the knockout competition, among them 10 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) and six National Super League (NSL) sides, as well as clubs taking part in the Division One League and Branch Leagues. In the draw, the KPL and NSL clubs have been excluded from the preliminary round, which kicks off this weekend.
The Zetech University Football club was included in the premier games and will play against Nairobi Water in a match that will feature this Sunday at Utalii, in Nairobi. The winner of this game will thereafter battle Talanta FC to qualify for the next round.
Commenting on the draw, team Coach Bernard Kitolo shared that his squad is confident as they prepare for the weekend game. “We are focusing on the game ahead and we will give our best to ensure a great result. Once we navigate this, then we can plan for the next round.” He said.
As the tourney progresses, 16 clubs which gain passage from the preliminary round will then face off with 16 KPL and NSL clubs in the round of 32 slated for February 15, and 16. The final will go down on May 30, 2020 and the winner will take home KES 2 Million, while the runners up will pocket KES 1 Million. The third-placed and fourth-placed teams will get KES 750,000 and KES 500,000 respectively.
Indeed, we are eager to see the Titans excel in the games.
