The Commission for University Education CEO, Prof. Mike Kuria on 24th April 2024, paid a courtsey visit to Prof. Njenga Munene, Vice Chancellor, Zetech University for a tree planting sustainability initiative as a significant reflection of the shared vision in  laying a strong foundation for a greener resilient future.

The activity, that took place at the Ruiru and Technology Park Mang’u Campuses reinforced the institution’s dedication to nurturing not only intellectual growth but also environmental sustainability. In his remarks, Prof. Mike Kuria emphasised the importance of quality assurance in higher education and applauded Zetech University for its world-class facilities and evident dedication to providing a conducive learning environment.

“I am very  impressed by the remarkable progress and innovation at Zetech University. The University’s exceptional facilities not only meet but exceed expectations, and its capacity to accommodate a growing number of students is a testament to the commitment Zetech University has made in creating a world-class learning environment. Zetech University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Njenga Munene reaffirmed the institution’s dedication to contributing positively to tree planting as a way of mitigating climate change. “This is not just any other activity, we are laying a foundation for the future. We hope that one day we will be remembered as a University that saved the future for its students and the community at large.”

The University aims at increasing the number of trees planted across its campuses from 1,678 in 2024 to an even more ambitious target this year. This initiative is not just about greening the environment; it’s a deliberate step toward creating a culture of sustainability that’s rooted in education, innovation and community action.
