Zetech University, in collaboration with the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) – Kiambu Chapter, hosted a dynamic Poultry Value Chain Forum on Friday 23rd May 2025 at the Ruiru Campus. The engagement brought together a diverse group of stakeholders from across the poultry industry, including farmers, animal feed producers, processors, financial institutions, and government agencies. These participants convened with a common objective of exploring practical strategies for strengthening the poultry sector and enhancing its contribution to Kiambu County’s economic development. This partnership highlights Zetech University’s ongoing efforts to contribute to community empowerment through industry-focused initiatives and strategic collaborations.
This dynamic platform facilitated meaningful engagement among stakeholders, enabling the exchange of sector-specific insights, the formation of strategic linkages, and the exploration of sustainable solutions to the challenges facing the Poultry farming in Kiambu County and Kenya at large. Among the issues discussed were the rising cost of poultry feed, unpredictable market dynamics, limited financial support, and regulatory inconsistencies. Participants focused on solution-oriented approaches, highlighting the critical need for collective action and strengthened partnerships to overcome these obstacles and enhance the poultry value chain.
Mr. Richard Ndungu, Chairman of the KNCCI Kiambu Chapter, reiterated the Chamber’s commitment to championing a supportive business climate. He underscored the importance of promoting trade and investment while connecting local enterprises to sustainable economic opportunities. In addition, he affirmed the Chamber’s resolve to empower stakeholders through capacity building and enhanced access to local and international markets.
