January 2018… In the wake of the released 2017 KCSE results, Zetech University held a timely career exhibition in the heart of Nairobi and Kiambu Counties, in a bid to equip Kenyans with important information regarding university education.

Featuring various departments, the four day activity was a rewarding experience for many as the varsity brought information to clients and provided them with a rare opportunity to talk directly to Faculty Heads and lecturers on key aspects of different courses.

Commenting on the forum, Zetech University DVC, Academics, Research and Extension, Prof. Alice Njuguna highlighted on the significance of such initiatives as they equip students with details on what next after KCSE,

“Not many parents and students are clear on opportunities in university and what options they can pursue with regard to grades attained; they should not feel defeated and lost, but they should be furnished with full information from experts on joining a credible institution. At Zetech, we have invested in these regular exhibitions to meet this need.” Prof. Alice said.

The exhibition saw the Faculty of Business team set up an inviting station to enlighten participants on the course while the varsity’s business students capitalized on the session to apply skills gained by selling various products and services on site. The School of IT and Engineering, on their part, displayed various innovations and talked to engaged guests on the important role of technology in the world today and the role of technology in solving problems in the world.

Highlighting the role of technology in education and the world, Moses Maina, Registrar Academics noted that the place of IT in the world informs the curriculum and training at Zetech, with the aim of equipping students with the skills to create solutions during the time of study and beyond the classroom. “IT remains a critical element in the development of new world systems and shifts, not only in corporate entities but in government circles. At Zetech, we admit students who are not only thirsty for knowledge and expose them through such career exhibitions so that they can share their innovations with the world.” He shared.

Indeed, the annual event is a beneficial platform for students as they finalise the process of pursuing higher education.
